Gettin' Real

We have descended into the garden and caught three hundred slugs. How I love the mixture of the beautiful and the squalid in gardening. It makes it so lifelike.  -Evelyn Underhill, Letters

Sometimes we have to take the good with the bad.
Both "good" and "bad" can help us grow.

Critiques are necessary in life because sometimes we are too close to see what is right in front of us.

Good equals being open to new thoughts and ideas....challenges and critiques.
Bad equals fear and doubt.
Good equals pausing to think, refocus and begin again.
Bad equals stubborness, digging heals in and refusing to try one more time.

My aunt might think this post is about her. It is, in a roundabout way.
Her email to me tonight about a situation she is in triggered this thinking about me and my life.

I love when things start coming together in my mind.
I love seeing situations through anothers points of view.
I love gettin' real.
It propels me back into the right direction.
It gets me "off my dime."
It fuels my fire and my Faith.
