Unending Faith

A little faith will bring your soul to heaven, but a lot of faith will bring heaven to your soul.

Life hasn't been easy lately for some people I know of.
Death and grief has impacted the hearts of their families recently.

As one who knows how hard death can be at any time of year, let alone during the holiday's... let's just say that my heart and prayers go out to each and every person affected.

There's one person in particular I can't get out of my mind: a woman who lost her 12 year old son to cancer a few days ago. She has the strongest faith of anyone I've read about. All throughout her son's short lived illness she prayed and believed that her son would be healed. Her faith emanated a strength that almost took my breath away. And now, to have her precious son pass away - to still have that incredible Faith.... Wow.

To have Faith in the midst of sorrow.
To have Faith in the midst of pain.
To have Faith in the midst of fear.
To have Faith in the midst of death.
To have Faith in the midst of grief.
To have Faith...

Faith to rely on.
Faith to hold on to.
Faith to lift you up.
Faith to comfort you and encourage you.
Faith to hold you together when you feel yourself coming apart.

She's a marvelous example to me of Faith.
If this woman can walk through the fire and come out with her Faith still intact...well then I know I can walk up and over the embers burning under my own feet.

My pain can't compare to hers. I don't think we can ever compare our own pain with someone else. We aren't in their shoes - their lives - their situations - their hearts.

We can love them. We can pray for them. We can keep our Faith for them.
Always.

This image is of a ring that I recently bought myself. The inside of the ring says "Walk by Faith Not by Sight." I needed something to carry (wear) that I could see at all times. I wanted a reminder to choose Faith every time I felt doubt... to choose Hope over despair ... Love over hate and anger ... and Truth over lies. The ring is a circle symbolizing unending Faith.

I know a lady just like that who has intestinal cancer which has spread to her liver and lungs and she continues to demonstrate insurmountable faith.
