Silly ol' bug

If you don't get everything you want, think of the things you don't get that you don't want.
- Oscar Wilde

I saw this Lady Bug and was oh, so happy.
I clicked away at her and she abruptly turned and well, left.
Silly 'ol bug.

What do you think of this quote?
I gotta tell you it grabbed my attention this morning. It got me to thinking about how I act when I don't get "everything" I want. I know I haven't always acted properly.

In recent years I have been working hard at seeing the big picture when things don't go the way I think they should. Remembering only God can see the big picture (He knows when the right players are ready to be put in place and when the perfect time is for "it" all to happen) helps me keep my attitude in check when I don't get everything I want.

  1. Your ladybug is very cute. We had a lot of them in the fall, in fact I'm still finding them here and there in the house!
I had to read the quote a couple of times...I seldom get everything I want, but then there are the things I don't want that I don't get! Ha-ha!
    Sunny :)

  2. this was much like my prayer at Thanksgiving only he says it so much better ... your photos are breath taking ...

  3. Great shots. I love the colors and the depth of the colors on the leaves and on the bug. Very sharp. Nice job.

  4. Happy 2010! I love your ladybug photo! Lovely words and quotes too, especially the Oscar Wilde quote.

  6. I love the photos! That's one of my favorite bugs. That quote reminds me a little of "Be careful what you wish for." which was the title of a chapter in a book written by a Marine Corps Officer about his experiences in Vietnam.

  7. Very nice photos Stacey - I really like the lighting especially on the second one. I feel like I'm in the Lady Bug's world.

Yes, seeing things God's way is the key!

  8. I LOVE ladybugs!! They are one of my favorite critters. I am a work in progress when it comes to being content with what I have...some days are better than others.

  9. Owwwhh yea so true! I always love the fact I'm not alone in thoughts like these. Thanks for sharing the things you do have on this blog with us.
