Risk Taking

The wise man in the storm prays to God, not for safety from danger, but for deliverance from fear. - Ralph Waldo Emerson, Journals, 1833

Risk taking.
That's what I get when I look at this little yellow house and read this quote.

Home is where the heart is - it's your safety zone. It's where most of us go when we feel scared and need to feel safe.

If we aren't careful though, we can get stuck in our safety zone and that in turn keeps us stuck in our lives.

When you reach the point of being stuck the only thing you can do is dare to take a risk:

- Pull on your boots
- Reach for the door
- Unlock it
- Open it
- Step outside
- Breathe deep

It's okay to take risks - even and especially in baby steps.
Step out in Faith.
Step out in trust.
Someone above is watching over you and has your back.
He'll keep you safe.

  1. That is beautiful. It makes me want to go there and sit quietly and ponder. I love the reflections, that's part of what makes it look so peaceful. Great shot Stacey!

  4. Amen to that! Very nice photo Stacey! This could be a Norman Rockwell painting. I can see white capped mountains in the back. I'll bet it's in the NW somewhere. :)
