Not a cat but a...

Nobody who is not prepared to spoil cats will get from them the reward they are able to give to those who do spoil them.  - Compton MacKenzie

This quote applies to dogs, too!!!

Doogie and I got to get out yesterday after a couple of weeks of being sick at home. We had a great day visiting my Mom (Doogie's Grammy) and my grandmother.

Grammy is the person who taught Doogie that when cheese is spelled out loud - it means come and get a piece of cheese! Just whisper c-h-e-e-s-e and he will run to you as fast as his little legs will carry him and plunk his bottom on the floor to sit and wait - very impatiently at times. (It is the cutest and funniest thing!)

Doogie didn't get his customary "hello" treat because Grammy was busy when we arrived. He went the whole afternoon without getting his special treat. It wasn't until after dinner when Doogie climbed up on top of her shoulder and began to stare intently at her that she realized, "He wants his cheese!"

What a happy, spoiled little dog he is.
Doogie is so lucky to have a Grammy like he does...
A Grammy that spoils him and loves him as much as he loves her!

  1. Love your story Stacey, we used to have a dog who loved cheese too. When ever my children would unwrap a cheese slice, no matter how quietly they tried to do it, or where the dog was, he would come running. They are so funny that way. Your little dog is a very lucky little one. Love the photo. Nice that you both had a nice day out.

  3. I have this great big smile on my face right now and I called my husband in to see Doogie and he laughed out loud. I introduced him to Doogie and described the rest of him. He is very blessed to have mommy and grammy. Jake can spell to. my husband says, are your ready to eat and they go crazy, they know the word eat. we changed to Lunch, then when he learned that word, bob would spell it, now he jumps up and runs around when we spell lunch. dogs are just to funny for words.

  11. I just have a feeling that Doogie gets his fair share of treats, and love too. It's not just that dogs can talk, it's what they have to say.
