Choose to Celebrate

There are exactly as many special occasions in life as we choose to celebrate. - Robert Brault, http://www.robertbrault.com/

I like to turn ordinary moments into special occasions.

For example:
Lighting candles at mealtime ... whether I eat alone or not
Drinking out of crystal goblets ... just because
Dressing up ...  just to run errands
Taking flowers to someone ... because it is unexpected
Clicking pictures of my family ...  because we are together today

Extraordinary moments occur every day and in the smallest amount of time.
Every one of those occasions needs to be taken advantage of and celebrated.  The acknowledgement doesn't have to be huge.  It can be a bear-sized hug, a hand squeeze, a wink, or kind word of gratitude ... something that just makes you feel special and makes your heart (and/or someone else's) sing. We need to celebrate them all, big or small.  It makes life so much more enjoyable that way, don't you think?

  3. Your blog looks terrific!

You are so right in celebrating the every day moments. Always using the good dishes, never saving an outfit for a 'special' occasion, telling someone you love them...as they say ~ every day is a gift! So true.

    Have a wonderful Thursday!

  5. Again, your flowers are plum beautiful. (I don't know why but in the old days if something was "plum ____" it was to the max. Or maybe it was "Plumb"???) That just popped into my head when I saw the gorgeous purple color of these.
