Joy in the Ordinary

One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon-instead of enjoying the roses blooming outside our windows today.  - Dale Carnegie quotes (American lecturer, author, 1888-1955)

This quote reminds me of a post from Just a Moment.  (If you haven't seen Susan's blog - please check it out.  She is one sweet lady full of inspiration and beautiful images).  Susan wrote about "being blessed by the ordinary."

Her post reminded me to seek joy in every possible moment.... even when going through a hard time.
She reminded me to rejoice at each baby step improvement ... because those tiny steps can, and do, add up to milestone achievements.  Susan also reminded me to praise God for every single blessing ... of which there are so many I can't begin to count.

My hope and prayer today is for each of you to find joy - in every single ordinary moment of your day.
Thank you, Susan, for being such an inspiration.

  3. I am going to check out this blog today, thank you. That picture, you can just keep going deeper and deeper till you get lost in it. It's hypnotic. And a beautiful color. If we look for it, God gives us little encouragements everywhere, a beautiful sunset, a butterfly on the window, a wonderful bible verse. I am thinking you are one who's very aware of this.

  8. That means a lot to me today - as I keep waiting and waiting for the end of school, so I can get started on ....

I am a full time teacher, full time, wife and mother to 3 teenage sons - who need me everywhere it seems. I am too many full times - and constantly find myself saying, "I will when .." but I know all too well that 'when' might never come.

Your image screams the old Mac Davis song

You've got to stop and smell the roses
You've got to count your many blessings everyday

    Beautiful post!
Thank you for inspiring our thoughts.

  10. the rose is stunning. and the words are good for me. I am a person who has for my whole life looked at that greener grass on the other side of the fence, and always made decisions to move on and try something different which caused MANY bad time in my life. for the past 25 years I have managed to stick with life and enjoy the moment and now that i am retired I am content with my grass on my side of the fence.
