Time to Pause

Now and then it's good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy. - Robert Brault, http://www.robertbrault.com/

I see a rose and I instantly think:  "stop and smell the roses."
And, I do.

The other day I was out with Mom and Nana and came across this yard rimmed with roses.  While they shopped I got out my camera and began to click, as well as sniff, each rose bush. (Don't worry, both Mom and Nana are okay with my clicking/sniffing shenanigans).

One of the roses gave off the scent of cinnamon.  It was amazing! I'd like to get my hands (nose) on a big bouquet of those!!

After reading of my little sniffing escapade, please tell me, what makes you pause?

  1. what makes me pause, that can cover many things, an eagle in flight, a humpback whale coming up for air, a hummingbird at a flower, standing at the edge of the ocean, looking out at the endless horizon, seeing a deer in the forest, or watching in awe at an ever changing brilliant sunset, and some try to say there is no God.

Grandchildren make me pause. Seeing things through their little eyes. Simple amazement and wonder. I really enjoying visiting your site. It is truly a joy to spend a little time each day with others that enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Thanks for sharing a little piece of your life.

God's blessing to you on your journey today. --Deanna

  4. There is so much in God's creation that makes me pause. I will never cease to find something in this world that makes my eyes light up. I don't recall ever sniffing a rose that smells like cinnamon.

  5. This is amazingly beautiful and delicate! I recently posted pictures of some weeds in a vacant lot by my house, and my thoughts were about finding beauty all around us. You truly have a trained eye. Not many would see the beauty in a wilted and spent rose, but your image will make all of us look at roses past their prime with different eyes.

  9. EVERYTHING makes me pause!! I am fascinated with and want to know about it all! A ten minute trip to the grocery store can take an hour, because I'm always stopping along the way to look and snap!

  14. What makes me pause? Watching water. I can stare at the lake for hours - just looking. Or if I turn on a faucet and the water runs over my hands.

A cinnamon rose. I think that would give me pause.
