Serenity and peace

There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind. - Washington Irving

This is an image of my friend, Jed, in his "happy place." It is where I will always remember him.

Jed passed away this morning. My best friend and his wife, Diane, was by his side. She told me it was a very peaceful passing. She is surrounded by the love of family right now. Even so, my heart is broken due to the pain I can only imagine they are all feeling.

I've been numb since I received the news. I can let the tears flow now as I look at this representation of this wonderful man. I will always remember his twinkling eyes... his teasing jokes... his love for fishing and his love for Diane and his family. And, I will forever chuckle at Jed holding my Doogie in his arms and smiling.

I am going to take a blog break for an undetermined amount of time. My health issues are continuing to keep me from the computer. And, I have a very sick uncle in the hospital. More losses are most likely to come in the near future and my priorities will remain my family and friends. I miss blogging and you all more than I can express.

I would appreciate your prayers. There is so much grief and pain in this world. Yet, I know God is good and He is faithful. "He alone knows the plans for our future" ... Jeremiah 29:11.

Blessings and peace to you all.
