Three Powerful Words

Beware of the half truth. You may have gotten hold of the wrong half. - Author Unknown

Truth. Trust. Honesty.

Three very powerful words that carry with them honor, privilege and respect.

My journey through life has helped me learn of many lies and betrayals. My brain has often gotten frazzled trying to get behind the "whys" of it all.

I believe people lie and betray because they are in pain and are fearful of others knowing the real person that lives inside their body. Please don't get me wrong, I am not excusing or condoning lies or betrayals. For me, however, knowing that someone mistreated me because they live in great pain helps me forgive them faster and easier than assuming they are just cold and mean people.

I also want to say that forgiving (to me) does not mean forgetting the betrayal or giving permission to let it happen again.

Forgiving is a gift I give myself. It allows me to move up, onward and away from the situation. It allows me to see more of the whole truth which then allows me to heal and live the life God has for me.

John 8:32 (KJV) says, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." A power packed verse that I hold very near these days. It speaks total Truth.
