Stopping Myself

The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me.  - Ayn Rand, The Fountainhead

The sermon yesterday morning was about Courage. It was fabulous! One might even go so far as to say it was "life changing."

There were many good points that I took note of, but the main principle that caught my attention was to have the courage to create a "Stop Doing" list.

Have you ever heard of such a thing? It seems so, so... well, wrong to even consider such a thing. I, personally, have many a "To Do" list. I even have a "Possibilities" list. But a "Stop" list? Nuh-uh-uh.

I listened further and heard: "Stop saying YES to anyone and everyone that asks something of you. By saying YES to everyone you in effect say NO to God and His plans and purpose for your life." (Quote paraphrased.)

I've definitely been given something to think about as someone who has been seeking God diligently for His direction, plans and purpose.

So, if you are looking for me tomorrow morning, you will find me with pen, paper and coffee in hand creating my "Stop Doing" list. I already have several ideas that I'm going to pray about. We'll see what else God wants me to stop doing so I can START doing His will.

Blessings to you all today!
