Choose Joy

A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery while on a detour. ~Author Unknown

My heart has been very heavy all day today. I subscribe to a blog called Gitzen Girl. It's written by Sara Frankl who has become a very inspiring person/role model for me and many others.

Sara has lived with a chronic illness that has kept her housebound for a long time. She's lived with much pain. And yet, her posts are always joyful, purposeful, inspirational and about living life.

I received an update on Sara today that announced her body has begun to shut down and that she is now Homeward bound. Sara has her family with her and is at peace. Her blog friends have been writing about her and praying for her through tears all day.

I am happy that Sara will soon be free from the pain of her earthly illness. I'm thrilled that she will soon be resting in the arms of Jesus. I'm very sad for those of us left behind as she will be greatly missed.

Sara is beautiful inside and out. She has been a major inspiration to me, personally. She has taught me that even if our goals and dreams differ from the plan God has for us, we can still choose to live a life full of joy, gratitude and love.

Sara, thank you for sharing your love, your spirit and your joy. I will miss you so much. I will remember you always. I will treasure your inspirational messages and your mantra to "choose joy!"

I hope you will take a few minutes to read through her blog

I am sure you will find many treasures among her gifted blog posts.

To Sara's family and friends, my heart goes out to you. I can only imagine your pain as you watch the physical life leave Sara's body. I pray for you to be comforted by God in such a way that you will see joy in every day life - the kind of joy Sara knew and shared with us all.

Love, joy and inspiration in Christ.

PS: Instead of sharing an image of my own creation today, I am posting inspirational blog buttons offered on Sara's blog to honor her.  They mean a great deal to me.
