Growing wings

Horses lend us the wings we lack. ~Author Unknown

A new place to visit.
A beautiful wedding celebration.
A family reunion of the best kind.

Gorgeous scenery.
Beautiful weather.
Camera click opportunities galore.

Anxiety reared it's head as I thought about what lay before me.

A friend caught me right between the eyes when I told her of my nervousness.

She said, "Instead of feeling nervous or anxious you should be thanking God for the opportunity in front of you.  You get to see family you haven't seen in years, witness a beautiful celebration and take pictures of gorgeous scenery."

She was right.  Oh, so very right.  I was looking at the situation in a backwards light.

God spoke to me through her that day.  Her words are something I hope to carry with me the next time I'm facing something producing nervousness or anxiety.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Deut. 31:6 NIV

Wishing you sunny skies, a beautiful weekend and love, peace and joy to surround you.

  1. What were you afraid of, Stacey? Did you have to speak at this occasion? Public speaking is more feared than death, that stuns me. So you have lots of company. I used to be scared to speak in public, then I wrote a eulogy for a friend's funeral and spoke behind the pulpit, and I taught at church a few times. Facing it helped me and I am not scared anymore. Now watch me have gone on and on and this was probably not what you were talking about.

  2. A true friend will smack us right between the eyes and tell us exactly what we need to hear. Sounds like she's a treasured gift to you sweetie.

On the other-hand, sometimes we have those 'panic attacks' or other anxieties that are outta our control. We can't feel bad or embarrassed 'bout those either. All we can do is seek help and lay it at the feet of Jesus. 'Just sayin'...

I threw that out here for those who may suffer from those or depression. It's my hearts desire for no one to feel guilty.

See, I have one of those very treasured friends who can fall into a very deep depression due to health issues. When she does, she blames herself for not bein' strong enough or have enough faith. That's not the case at all.

Now as daddy would of said, "there she goes, she's to diarrhea mouth!" Heeehehehhee!

I'll get of the bandwagon sweetie!

God bless you and enjoy your weekend dear friend!!! :o)

  6. Bela fotografia de lindo cavalo...Espectacular....

  7. Your friend is very wise, and so glad you took it to heart. Your photography is such a wonderful gift from God, and He wants you to use it for His Glory. The enemy of our souls is a liar and doesn't like when we do things for His Glory! You are a Blessing Stacey and thank you for your honesty. I can learn from that and your friends wisdom. You are not alone. I feel the same way more than I like to admit.
Have a Blessed week and I do enjoy your photography and your beautiful uplifting blog. Thank you Stacey.
    Hugs, Dianne :)
