See

I'm trying to play by the Five Minute Friday rules today.

Let's see if I can do it.

Ready.  Set.  Go!

I see beauty.  I seek out beauty.  I choose to see the good along with the bad because if I didn't I'd fall into a deep depression that I doubt I could recover from.

The hard and the ugly and the painful that surrounds each one of us can be overcome by choosing to see the beauty that is in us, in others, in the world, and in God.

See.  Look with your eyes.  Look with your heart.  Look with the listening your ears can do.

See with the whispers in the wind.
See with the taste of savory morsels.
See with the embrace of those both near and far.

See.

You can choose to see.

The good.
The bad or...
The ugly.

You can choose to see what you want to see.

Sure, the reality is there.  But more often than not, there is more than what we see on the surface.  There is beauty if you look and see.

And, if you can't see the beauty with your own eyes, ask God to show you it through His eyes.  He can and most likely, He will.

Stop.  (And yes,  I broke the rules.  Again. ☺)

  1. Visiting from 5 minute Friday. See the beauty indeed. As a mother who has lost 2 children in 6 months, I have had to make the choice to see the beauty and world around me. To see above the grief and the wounds. To see the blessings I've been given. Thank you for the reminder!

  6. If you are not following the rules, don't ever stop what you are doing...I love your Fridays! Looking at the picture, it reminded me of my childhood when we would put these foxglove blooms on all ten of our fingers....watch out for the bees inside though! Thanks for the memory.
