I spy.....

A little "dawning inspiration" if you will before I share with you what I spied on the World Wide Web.
A situation came up and slapped me in the face last night.  It normally would have had me spiraling into a pit of sadness and fear.  And, I will admit that I I started down the slippery first curve when a treasured soul reminded me to "Wait on the Lord."  I was then asked if I trusted God with my dreams.

That question had me stopped in my tracks because I felt in my gut the answer, an instant and resounding "Yes."

I do trust God with my dreams.  I just don't trust that my dreams will turn out as "I" want them, too!  (And yes, while that statement is laughable - I'm human and sinful by nature - it's not funny.)

I have prayed for God to give me the "Desires of my heart" which means I want my desires to be only the desires He would want me to have.

I trust His sovereignty.  I trust in His plan for my life.  I trust that He does not need my help to "fix" any situation.  I trust that He is faithful and that if He shuts a door it's because He knows best.

None of this means I won't have feelings if things don't go "my" way.  If they do, I'll be one happy camper.  If they don't, I will be writing on my arm with a "Sharpie" the above linked Bible verses so that I can see them and say them aloud if tears start to sting my eyes.

A song is going through my head as I type this.  It's a song by "Building 429" and can be read and heard here.   In a nutshell, it's about trusting God.  I hope you will take time to listen (click the video on the right side of the page and not the red arrow).  It's really a great song.

And now, without further ado, here's what I spied:

On Empathy   Her book, "Real Men Don't Text" is F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S, as well.  (Yep! I read it!)

Lookin' for Love  My favorite image from the week (I adore Cardinals!)

Fun Photo Activity Using a Crystal Ball  I have GOT to do this!!!  It's too cool for words! (I believe a certain "MadSnapper" might want to try this, too!)

Improve Photography Skills  Clicking using black as your background - gorgeous!

Creamy Asparagus Soup - Recipe to try.  Makes me hungry reading it.

Thank you for your visit.  May your day and week be incredibly blessed.

  1. I looked at the black background because my blog is black and i do lots and lots of black background... i like black better than white. and the link to
the one about the crystal ball takes me to your daffodil not to the crystal ball...

  2. Thanks Sandra for letting me know about the link. I have not a clue what happened there. I linked it back to a site but it's not the one I originally found. I'll keep searching! And I love photos against black too.... I think they are elegant, striking and just plain cool.

  3. I love the crystal ball idea. What fun. Thanks for these, SD!
