Mother, the ribbons of your love are woven around my heart. - Author Unknown I wrote on Canyon Creek's Blog today. If you'd like to read my post, click here or read below:
I’ve always dreamed of being a Mom. This past Wednesday night at One Voice, God asked me to surrender that longing for a husband and family to Him. (If you were there and you took Pastor Di’s dare to ask God what He wanted you to surrender you will know what I’m talking about. If you don’t, I encourage you to come to the next One Voice service, Wednesday, June 4th at 7pm!)
I was surprised by what God asked me to surrender. It literally shook my being.
After all, it has been my life long dream to one day have a husband and family. It wasn’t an easy thing to surrender, but I did. I gave my desire to God and placed it into His Hands to fulfill or not as He wills with His perfect plan.
And, as Mother’s Day is tomorrow, I choose not to focus on myself and what I do not have, but to focus on what I have been richly blessed with:
- an Abba Father who loves me and has a perfect plan for my life (see Jeremiah 29:11)
- a wonderful Mom living close by who remains my best friend
- many, many wonderful mother’s hearts who have crossed my path in the form of friends, pastors, relatives, neighbors, acquaintances, etc.
Here’s to all Mother’s everywhere - no matter what stage of life you are in and no matter what type of mother figure you are!
May God bless you abundantly, continue to direct your paths and expand your mother’s heart for His Kingdom.
