Independence Day

Thinking on years gone by

of many 4th's of July's

Remembering family and friends

picnic food-filled tables and outdoor games

Smiles and laughter, jokes through the night and after

Under blue skies or gray

Celebrating in every possible way.

Streams of light would streak through dark

Then burst open wide with colors sublime

All to celebrate the freedom

gifted to me and to you

by those that fought for

the Red, White and Blue.

Those 50 stars...

and 13 stripes....

were each bought with a steep, steep price

with thousands of heroic souls....

All for me

All for you

All for the country waving the Red, the White and the Blue.

May you rejoice in the freedom God's given you in the U.S.A. and in your own personal life.

Thank you to those who have served, who are serving and to those who will serve.

Thank you to the families who endure the hardships while loved ones are away.

Prayers to and for all of you today.

This is an amazing piece you have written.
I am so grateful to be living here in the U.S.A. - warts and all!
